WOW! this was such a great read. it really makes me want to read more of Neal Shustermans books. so much happened in this reading i don't even know where to start! some of the most significant developments were Lev evolving into a character more like Roland rather than the soft personality he used to be. as Lev goes through the same journey that connor and risa went through on their way to the graveyard, lev quickly makes it clear that he does not wish to be messed with. this is all part of how lev has changed into a rather intimidating character. One other big character change occurred with roland. He seemed to keep the same personality right up until his fight with connor. just as roland was about to squeeze the last drops of life out of connor he stopped. he could not do it. so as a result he burst into tears. This is huge because throughout the book roland showed nothing in his heart but intimidation, and anger. Relationship wise connor and risa have completely broken out of their shells and even share kisses whenever they get the chance. These two characters had grown to love eachouther by the end of the book. A very interesting peace of symbolism was uncovered with rolands shark tattoo. This shark symbolised rolands commanding presents wherever he went and when he was unwound the arm with this tattoo was passed onto connor. I think this symbolised connors leadership role in the novel especially when he takes over to job of looking over the graveyard and even starting his own rebellion against unwinding. This was a great read and i really hope they make it into a movie.
